Authors/irina cristea


Irina Cristea was born in Romania and started architectural studies in Bucharest. In 1990, she won a scholarship to France, in Strasbourg. She graduated at the ENSA in 1995. She also studied to Southbank University for one year in 1993 as an exchange-student.
From 1997 to 2000, they lived and worked in Hong Kong.
In 2001 they founded AZC-Atelier Zündel Cristea. The office is located in Paris.
Through competitions and direct commissions, the office has worked on over a hundred projects of varied scales and uses. Most of their built projects are intended for a wide audience; sports facilities, lecture halls, office buildings and residential, some of which very specific, for vulnerable populations. AZC currently works on nine projects of metro stations, including four in Paris and four in Rennes, under construction and a new station in Lyon, on study.
